ains is pretty sure a diaper with a pair of her big brother's "diegos" is completely appropriate. she does look smashing, doesn't she?

girls weekend.

girls weekends. there's nothing better. each year {well, for 2 years now} we've gotten together with college roomies and good friends for a nice weekend. ains and i had a blast. that said, i'm pretty sure there was some discussion regarding future weekends and the presence of below said sweet children. something to be said about some girl time sans these little ankle biters. we were lucky though cause ryder's awesome grandma came down and stayed with the kiddos one night so us gals could enjoy a night out. it was fantastic!! {we missed you erin!} so here they are- and i totally snagged this pic off of erin's blog!

ains gave lots of open mouth kisses to becks. we're going to have to work on that before she gets too old. at least she's going to have to learn to keep her tongue in her mouth- geesh girly! and ryder loves to cheese it up for the camera. his mom must give him a break from time to time.....

so much fun having a littler baby to snuggle- baby zach is so sweet!

and ainsley was in awe over many a things that ryder was doing. i'm sure he got a little tongue to the face for whatever he did here.....

all in all a fantastic weekend!! thanks gals- looking forward to next year already!!

ains has 2 best friends. her big brother and her baby glow worm {a must for any small person}. noah, you are such a good big brother. more often than not, you share your snacks, give up your lovey for sissy, read to her, share your toys and all sorts of other things. she's a lucky little sis. you love your red chair in your room- and you even give that up for her.

she's a lucky sissy indeed. and you're a lucky brother. ains loves you to the moon and back- and then some. she shares her lovey with you more often than not, gives you all her blue {thomas} fruitloops, hugs you often and smiles at you every.time.you.look.at.her.....and what a lucky mommy and daddy we are.
and when noah is at school, baby glow worm fills his spot. she or he {ains got a blue one and a pink one for christmas:)} tags along with us everywhere we go. so thanks to nana and auntie rachel, ains has her 2nd string brother to help her out.

this poor thing can't catch a break. while it doesn't accurately show it here- she has been miserable now for about the last week. her tubes are about half way out, and we already have another ear infection. b.u.m.m.e.r. the dr. pretty much says we can schedule round 2 anytime. however, i'm hoping we can skate by in these last few months of winter and hope for the best next fall......

all things thomas

noah scored this sweet pair of thomas slippers from our good friend zach {his future brother-in-law should things work out as planned with maggie}. we wear them often. usually with our thomas jammies from the henry's. tonight those were dirty- so pirate jammies from nana and papa had to do. and when we wear our slippers it's only appropriate to do thomas things. like puzzles we got for christmas from auntie katy and uncle jeremy and great grandma and great grandpa w.

we're usually very methodical when we put puzzles together too. only certain pieces first, then certain other ones. it's a weird process he has. and i'd expect nothing less from my sweet o.c.d. child!

for the love of a vest.

can you hear her crying? i can! in my defense, i only had my camera out to take some pics of this sweet shirt from the pink jellybean and took off that blessed green vest and this is what i got. so, if you can get past that horrible sad face......she really is wearing a super sweet shirt!

she's convincing isn't she. i tried to tell her that she looked much sweeter in her new shirt, but to no avail. regardless, loving her new shirt!

an afternoon at the office.

we have a nice ottoman that stores {houses our crap!} some of our fun toys in the living room upstairs. most often though it serves as the "office" per noah. we empty it all out, put the keyboard up top and "work" away {i.e. pound as hard as we can} on the keyboard. most often, they cordially sit across from each other and have a blast. today i even heard him tell ainsley that "you're my best friend sissy. i wub you." made.me.cry.

clothes are optional at the office here. however, sissy's headband acting as bow tie is not.

and someone should tell ainsley's dolls that their hands may be used as potential teething items. it's unfortunate, but true.

if only there were words

here me out on this one- i know- i'll regret these words someday......however- i CaN nOt wait until this girl has got some actual words in her vocabulary. don't get me wrong- she can say all sorts of "stuff" and some i can understand. 'cat', 'please', 'mama', 'dada', 'baby' and 'hi' top her list. what doesn't top her list was whatever was going on outside that she desperately needed to tell me about. and was rather frustrated when i had NO IDEA what the heck she was "saying" in her own little language. exhibit 'a':

what she said: "mi-do-lesas-lof-mi"

what i heard: see above

i'm sure she's thinking- "did you get that mommers?" {i wonder if she'll call me that too?}
what she said: "shaf-blah-do-di-mi-ga"
what i heard: see above {see our issues yet?}
now were really getting irritated

she even pointed in an attempt to help me out......

and mad. i knew this was coming. this is how roughly 97.6 percent of our conversations go these days. good times. and some day- i'm sure you'll read about how she talks non.stop- but seriously- i am ready for that.

confession......

i love this weather. i love how pretty it is. i love the cold. i love that it is so mesmerizing when it falls. i love winter activities. i love it. i don't particularly love trudging around in it with my kiddos, but i love it none the same. call me crazy, i know, but i just love it.

new ride

noah got a this new ride from grandma and grandpa k. for his birthday. and, after getting a pretty purple one first, then a broken one, we finally got the right- not broken one from amazon. so, 3 months later, we have the plasma car. and we love it! it's way too cold outside- so for now it's an inside car. lots of chasing going on around here- and occasionally ains even gets a chance to ride. very occasionally.

we've got style......

we've got a sweet sense of style around here- let me tell you. ains prefers to wear jackets of any kind- and from anyone's closet. doesn't matter what goes under them either. i can't remember the last time i have come home from work in the morning and she hasn't been sporting a jacket of some sort. she's funny, that's for sure. AND, she has thankles- which makes her that much cooler......

and noah, this cool cat prefers undies these days. and perhaps my hat. maybe, maybe not. which isn't surprising- since last summer he spent his time wearing this more often than not.
and nothing beats a stylin' big brother loving on his equally stylish little sister.

doesn't quinn look really happy here? all those smiles.....they lasted roughly 5 minutes and the rest was all tears- just.not.having.it the day we tried. so, we'll try again later today :)

sweet hair ainsley......

been slackin' a little on the blogging. here's what i have for now- i know you've "all" been dying for an update. ainsley in the morning. both my kiddos seem to have been blessed with crazy morning hair- and she is no exception. there was no taming this mess either- it was straight to the tubby after breakfast for her! on a side note though- i have had plenty of time to keep up on all the other blogs i read :) and came across this hilarious post on a blog i read sometimes. you should definitely check it out here.....
